Features

  • SystemCommand, PythonCommand : Added isolated plug. An isolated task is executed from a script containing only that node. This is a useful optimisation when the load time for the full script is high compared to the time taken to execute the task (#6541).

Improvements

  • SceneInspector :

    • Added “Isolate Differences” option for comparison modes. This filters out all properties which have the same value in the A and B columns.

    • Improved filtering :

      • By default, filters now match any part of the hierarchy, allowing primitive variables to be matched.

      • Filters may optionally specify a full path, such as /Object/Primitive Variables/velocity to avoid matches elsewhere in the hierarchy.

      • The new behaviour matches the filters in the HierarchyView and AttributeEditor.

    • Removed redundant scene inspections when not in comparison mode.

  • Arnold : Added support for M44f header:* output metadata.

  • FocalBlur : Added presets for focalLengthWorldScale and placeholder text for cameraPath.

Fixes

  • Arnold : Fixed options.frame value, which was previously always 0. This fixes the arnold/frame EXR metadata.

  • SceneInspector :

    • Fixed potential crashes caused by a thread-safety bug. These were more likely in layouts with multiple SceneInspectors.

    • The Globals tab no longer shows the A/B columns when only locations are being compared.

  • BoolWidget : Fixed label text styling when disabled.

  • Scene Editors : Fixed cell background colour when a property is deleted by the current EditScope. It is now blue to indicate the edit, whereas before it had the default colour.

  • GraphEditor : Fixed duplicate annotations that occurred when default annotation metadata was registered for a particular node type.

  • Metadata : Removed duplicate items returned by registeredValues().

  • PlugLayout : Fixed context used to evaluate layout:activator metadata.

  • Catalogue : Fixed to support IPv4-only environments.

  • NodeEditor : Fixed error colour for preset widgets.

  • RenderPass menus : Fixed handling of renderPassPlugValueWidget:displayGrouped and renderPassPlugValueWidget:hideDisabled configuration metadata.

    • Fixed error handling. Previously if an error occurred when computing the available render passes, the menu would fail to build.

    • Fixed “Refresh” menu item, which is shown when the available render passes are still being computed.

    • Changes to the metadata after the menu is created are now reflected in the menu configuration.

    • The main menu configuration is saved in the .gfr file.

API

  • Metadata : The registerNode() function now accepts dictionaries containing plug metadata. This should be preferred to the previous list-based values.

  • SceneInspector : Added deregisterInspectors() method.

  • PathPlugValueWidget : Added support for placeholder text, via pathPlugValueWidget:placeholderText metadata.

  • TaskNode : Added “dispatcher:allowIsolation” metadata, which can be used to add the isolated plug to a TaskNode.

Build

  • Cortex : Updated to 10.6.0.2.
